ACCREDITATION OF KOREA COLD STORAGE CO., LTD. AND
DAE HAN INTEGRATION CO., LTD. OF KOREA TO EXPORT PORK AND ITS
BY-PRODUCTS INTO THE PHILIPPINES |

| |
|
| WHEREAS, |
sporadic
cases of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) occurred in the Republic
of Korea on March 2000 until April 26, 2000; |
| |
|
| WHEREAS, |
the
Republic of Korea has implemented vaccination and stamping-pout
to eradicate FMD; |
| |
|
| WHEREAS, |
the
international Animal Health Code of the Office International
des Epizoties (OIE) requires 12 months waiting period after the
last case if vaccination and stamping-out were used to eradicate
FMD before a country can regain its disease free status |
| |
|
| WHEREAS, |
the
Republic of Korea has compiled with the requirements stipulated
in the International Animal Health Code of the OIE; |
| |
|
| WHEREAS, |
the
above stated meat plants which were visited previously by the
DA Inspection Team comply with quarantine procedures and meat
inspection system, and found to be favorable to export pork and
its by-products to the Philippines; |
| |
|
| WHEREAS, |
all
import transactions of the above products shall be in accordance
with the existing rules and regulations of the Department of
Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Industry and the National Meat
Inspection Commission (DA-BAI-NMIC). |

|
| NOW,
THEREFORE, I, LEONARDO Q. MONTEMAYOR, Secretary of the Department Agriculture, by the
powers vested in me by law, do hereby issue this order granting
accreditation of the following meat plants to export pork and
its by-products: |

All orders, rules and regulations or
parts thereof which are inconsistent with the provisions of this
order are hereby repealed or amended accordingly.
This
Order shall take effect immediately.
