| WHEREAS, |
the
Office International des Epizooties(OIE) report indicates that
Brazil implemented a stamping out policy on al affected and exposed
birds to control Newcastle disease (ND); |

| WHEREAS, |
the
Federal Republic of Brazil has complied with the requirements
stipulated in the International Animal Health Code of the OIE; |
| |
|
| WHEREAS, |
the
meat plants visited are situated in states not affected by the
outbreak; |
| |
|
| WHEREAS, |
the
Philippine Department of Agriculture Inspection Team to the Republic
of Brazil, after thorough investigation and evaluation of the
disease situation, quarantine procedures, meat inspection system
and poultry processing plants found favorable conditions that
merit allowing the importation of fresh frozen and processed
chicken and its parts; |

NOW,
THEREFORE, I, LEONARDO Q. MONTEMAYOR, Secretary of Agriculture, by the power vested
in me by law, do hereby issue and order granting accreditation
of aforementioned meat plants to export poultry meat and meat
products, subject to the following conditions:
- THAT, all importation of poultry
meat and meat products came from birds, which have been kept
in an establishment free from ND and not situated in an ND-infected
zone and have been slaughtered in an approved abattoir not situated
in an infected zone and have been subjected to ante-mortem and
post-mortem inspections for ND with favorable results;
- THAT, all import transaction
of the above mentioned products shall be in accordance with the
existing rules and regulations of the Department of Agriculture,
Bureau of Animal Industry and National Meat Inspection Commission
(DA-BAI-NMIC); and
- THAT, all imported products
shall follow the existing standards/regulations of the DA-BAI-NMIC
on labeling;
All orders, rules and regulations
or parts thereof which are inconsistent with the provision of
this Order are hereby revoked or amended.
