In line with the government’s plan to rehabilitate Laguna Lake, Agriculture Secretary Manny F. Piñol and Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) General Manager Joey C. Medina meet Hungarian Water Technology Corporation Chief Executive Officer Adrián Kiss at the Department of Agriculture (DA) office in Quezon City on January 31, 2018. LLDA and Hungarian Water Technology Corporation hopes to conduct a feasibility study for a prototype design that could be a long-term wastewater treatment solution for the Laguna Lake. Secretary Piñol supports initiatives to rehabilitate Laguna Lake that would complement Project BASIL (Balik Sigla sa Ilog at Lawa), launched last year, to restore and rehabilitate major lakes and river around the country. Aside from this, the Project also aims to maximize economic benefits of fishers and provide them a sustainable livelihood. During the meeting, Piñol also shared that DA plans on promoting agro-forestry farming in the watershed areas of Laguna Lake. ### (Photo by Ardy Tompong/DA-AFID)
