4th National CPAR Congress

Author: DA Communications Group | 29 October 2019

Agriculture Secretary William Dar emphasized the importance of utilizing the results and technologies generated from research during the 4th National Community-based Participatory Action Research (CPAR) Congress organized by the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) on October 28, 2019.

“There should be means in which we can really commercialize the results and lessons we have learned from CPAR. Hindi na lang from 7 na naging 70, dapat from 70 magiging 70,000 na magsasaka at mangingisda ang makinabang. Ganoon po ang gusto nating makita,” said Dar.

He also challenged BAR to upscale the 20-year experience of implementing the CPAR program stressing the importance of lessons learned, and technologies so that more farmers and fishers can benefit from them.

“I am challenging CPAR at kayo din sa kanayunan, mga magsasaka at mangingisda, kasama po kayo sa upscaling and commercialization para hindi lamang iilan ang nakikinabang sa mga resulta ng pananaliksik. Mas makikinabang ang nakararami sa kanayunan,” Dar said. (Photos by Rita dela Cruz, DA-Communications Group)
