Awarding of Certificate of Accreditation to CSOs (September 15, 2020)

Agriculture Secretary William Dar and Department of Agriculture-Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (DA-PCAF) Officer-In-Charge and Executive Director Liza Battad awarded the Certificate of Accreditation to Mr. Arthur Baron, chair of the Philippine Eggboard Producer’s Cooperative (PEPC) on September 15, 2020.

The accreditation covers PEPC’s technical expertise on the improvement of farm/layer operation, group purchasing for cost reduction, and strengthening marketing operation.

In his short message, Secretary Dar urged the local government units to include eggs in their cash and food assistance.

Aside from the PEPC, the DA chief also accredited three civil society organizations (CSOs) for complying with the DA Administrative Order No. 13, s. 2020, as amended by the Administrative Order No. 19, s. 2020, or “Guidelines for the Accreditation of CSO to be engaged by the Department of Agriculture as a partner in the implementation of agri-fishery projects.”

The three CSOs accredited are:

  1. Victory Farmers Association for their technical expertise on rice, corn, and livestock farming thus increasing farmer-members income;
  2. Treasure Link Cooperative Society for their technical expertise on comprehensive financial products, programs, and services to its members for mutual economic and social growth; and
  3. Fortune Empire Multipurpose Cooperative for their technical expertise on reducing poverty through economic and social growth for each member and management/sustaining their natural resources.
