Awarding of Kabataang Agribiz Grant in Leyte (Oct. 12, 2021)

Young farmers Mark Durotan and Gregorio Daga, Jr., were proclaimed provincial winners of the Young Farmers Challenge Fund (Kabataang Agribiz Competitive Grant Assistance Program) for their business proposals focused on the production of organic farm inputs and integrated farming systems, respectively.

Durotan and Daga received their awards from Agriculture Secretary William Dar during the ceremony held in Abuyog, Leyte on October 12, 2021.

Kabataang Agribiz, launched on April 14, 2021, is a competitive financial grant assistance program for the youth who will engage in agri-fishery based enterprises. The grants shall serve as start-up capital for the planned innovative agri-based micro-enterprise operated by an individual youth or as a joint venture between two or more individual youth. This event aims to apprise the Bidders on the Standard Bidding Procedures of the Department of Agriculture - Office of the Secretary and the introduction of Green Procurement conditions in the procurement of Lease of Venue, Catering of Food Provision and I.T. Equipment.
