Agriculture Secretary William Dar stressed the importance of a robust information system in the agriculture and fisheries sector during a meeting with the Korean mission team for the Agriculture-based Central Data Ecosystem (AbCDE) Project on February 21, 2022.

He also thanked the Korean Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (EPIS) for the technical assistance and support that it is extending to the Department of Agriculture (DA) for various projects funded by the Korean government.

On the establishment of the AbCDE Project, Secretary Dar emphasized the critical role of a unified national agriculture information system.

“It will help the Department in obtaining prompt and updated information to make strategic and timely actions for the welfare of the Filipino farmers and fisherfolk,” he said.

The EPIS delegation composed of Agriculture ICT Expert Sanghun Lee, Hwangrea Kim of Infovalley Korea Co. Ltd., and TG Consulting Co. Ltd. Project Evaluation Specialist A-ram Park presented the key findings of the survey they’ve conducted.
