Courtesy Meeting with Poland Chargé d’affaires (Sept. 14, 2021)

Agriculture Secretary William Dar met with the Chargé d’ affaires of Poland to the Philippines Jaroslaw Szczepankiewicz, on September 14, 2021 to further enhance agricultural trade and cooperation between the Philippines and Poland.

“We would like to inform that the Department has already submitted the counter draft of the Memorandum of Understanding on Agriculture Cooperation to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on August 27, 2021,” Sec. Dar said.

During the meeting, Szczepankiewicz expressed their interest to increase its import and export trade particularly on Philippine mangoes and coconut products. He said they are also open for market collaboration on fruits, chocolate and confectionary products.

Szczepankiewicz also wishes to finalize the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that aimed to provide mutual beneficiary between the Philippines and Poland food agri system. He said the Polish export increase by 7 percent (%) or equivalent to US $7.3 million in 2020.

“We thank you for tapping us in these complimentary markets that we have here in the PH. We also thank you for your openness to export more Filipino products to Poland,” Sec. Dar said.
