Distribution of Various DA Interventions in Sarangani Province (Feb 5, 2021)

A total of P13-million worth of agricultural and fishery interventions were awarded to farmers and fishers from Maasim, Kiamba and Maitum in Sarangani Province as part of the “One DA” holistic approach of the Department of Agriculture (DA), to enable a productive and stable food production sector.

During the program held on Feb. 5, 2021, at the Municipality of Maasim Gymnasium, Secretary William Dar awarded distributed cash and food assistance to a total of 250 marginal farmers and fishers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Each recipient received P5000-worth of cash and food aid from DA through its regional office in Soccsksargen.

Farmers from the municipality of Kiamba received 100 bags of certified seeds, while 760 bags of urea fertilizer were awarded to farmers of Maitum under the Rice Resiliency Program.

In addition, 30 units of deep-sea fish aggregating device were turned over to the local farmers to aid them in their fishing activities and increase income and profit. (Photo by Alan Jay Jacalan, DA-AFID)
