Agriculture Secretary William Dar led the opening of the 1st National Livestock and Poultry Month celebration, at the DA’s Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) dome, in Quezon City, on October 4, 2021.

With the theme, “Paghahayupan, kabuhayang may ani at kita sa panahon ng pandemiya,” the event aims to put the limelight on the people who make up the livestock and poultry industry and continually contribute to food and nutritional security in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

From October 4 to 29, the BAI dome will serve as the main exhibit grounds, featuring information, education and communication activities and materials, fishery and animal products, and services from DA livestock offices. Webinars will also be held virtually throughout the month, all of which will be accessible via the DA-National Livestock Program’s official Facebook page.

The month-long event is spearheaded by the National Livestock Program, with the support of the Bureau of Animal Industry, National Meat Inspection Service, National Dairy Authority, Philippine Carabao Center, Agricultural Training Institute, International Training Center on Pig Husbandry, and DA Regional Field Offices.
