The Food Terminal Inc. (FTI), a government-owned and controlled corporation under the Department of Agriculture (DA), has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) for the development of a P3.6-billion Bagsakan ng Bayan Mega Food Hub (BBM Food Hub)—a large-scale agri-food complex aimed at boosting food security and farmer incomes.
The hub will integrate wholesale trading, food storage, processing, logistics, and agri-tourism facilities. It will also feature a Halal-certified zone and dedicated spaces for One Town, One Project (OTOP) enterprises that promote local livelihoods, innovation, and sustainable growth.
The complex will rise on a 46-hectare property in Clark, Pampanga, serving as the main trading center for Northern Luzon. FTI will begin developing a 10-hectare section early next year.
A second 40-hectare hub will constructed in Bukidnon to service Mindanao while a third 30-hectare hub is planned in Quezon province for Southern Luzon and Bicol produce.
FTI will lease the Clark property from CIAC for 25 years. ### (By DA – OSEC Comms & photos by AFID)
