The Department of Agriculture (DA), with the support of South Korea, has launched a new digital platform that could transform how government support reaches Filipino farmers, replacing slow paperwork and disconnected databases with real-time data and artificial intelligence.

Developed in partnership with South Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion, and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (EPIS), the Agriculture-Based Central Data Ecosystem (AbCDE) Platform is designed to speed up the delivery of farm assistance, sharpen supply chain monitoring and help stabilize food prices through faster, data-driven decision-making.

The initiative marks a major milestone in the DA’s digital transformation by bringing fragmented agricultural data into a single platform that gives policymakers, regional offices and frontline workers access to reliable, real-time information. The integrated system is expected to improve planning, policy making and program implementation while laying the foundation for stronger food security.

Instead of duplicate records and disconnected databases, the DA now has a unified digital hub that can verify beneficiaries, track interventions and monitor agricultural supply chains in real time. ### (Photos by Joseph Henry Elamparo, DA-AFID)
