The Department of Agriculture (DA) through its High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), leads this week’s festivities on May 19-23 in celebration of the Farmers’ and Fisherlfolk’s Month 2025.

The HVCDP is mandated by Republic Act 7900 otherwise known as High Value Crops Development Act of 1995, an act to promote the production, processing, marketing, and distribution of high value crops. It is one of the priority programs of the DA created to help address food security, poverty alleviation and sustainable growth anchored to achieve a food secure and resilient Philippines with prosperous farmers and fisherfolk.” ### (Photos by Ian Roy P.
