The Department of Agriculture (DA) leads celebration of the 2022 Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month or Buwan ng Magsasaka at Mangingisda, with the theme “Modernisasyon at Industriyalisasyon tungo sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita” on May 16, 2022.
As part of the celebration, Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar, together with DA officials and 2021 Miss Aura International and Food Security Ambassador Faith Garcia, led the opening of the photo exhibit at the DA lobby in Quezon City, which pays tribute and recognition to the hard work of the food heroes of the country.
Another highlight of the festivities is the showcase of agricultural products from nearby provinces through the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita which will run from May 16 to May 20.
The month of May was declared as the Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month, through Presidential Proclamation No. 33, in honor of the contribution of farmers and fisherfolk into the growth and development of the local agriculture sector. ### (Photos by Adonis Buhayan, DA-AFID)
