PAFES Launching in Legazpi City, Albay (Oct. 19, 2021)

The Albay provincial local government unit (LGU) accepted the challenge of the Department of Agriculture (DA) to pilot the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES) in the Bicol Region.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar, Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara, and DA-Bicol Regional Field Office Director Rodel Tornilla signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the PAFES implementation in Legazpi City, Albay on October 19, 2021.

The officials were joined by DA Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications Noel Reyes, Albay 2nd District Representative Joey Salceda, 3rd District Representative Fernando Cabredo, and AKO Bicol Partylist Representative Alfredo Garbin, Jr., among other local partners.

During the PAFES MOA signing and launching, Secretary Dar highlighted the OneDA Reform Agenda to Transform Philippine Agriculture, the importance of strong partnerships among different stakeholders, and how PAFES supports the Devolution Act.
