The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) officially kicks-off the implementation of Provincial-led Agriculture and Fishery Extension Systems (PAFES) in the province, which aims to bring extension services to the grassroots level.

With PAFES, Sarangani, considered as the poorest province of Region 12, will serve as a hub for education and training, unifying all the plans and programs of all stakeholders concerned.

In his message, Agriculture Secretary William Dar announced on Feb. 5, 2021 that the Department of Agriculture (DA) is allotting more than 200 million pesos for the province of Saranggani for 2021 for the implementation of various agri-fishery projects and initiatives.

“We are committing P226 million for the province of Saranggani for this year. Let’s make every municipality a food-secure local government unit,” he said. (Photo by Alan Jay Jacalan, DA-AFID)
