RFFA Distribution in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur (Nov. 4, 2021)

Kaya umasa po kayo na di matatapos sa araw na ito ang pag aabot ng tulong sa inyo,” Asec Arnel de Mesa said during the roll-out of the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA) in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur on Nov. 4, 2021.

De Mesa, who presented the objectives and targets of RFFA, explained that farmers tilling a farm lot measuring two hectares or less will receive P5000 unconditional cash assistance under RFFA as long as they are registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).

Sta. Maria farmers and those living in the 2nd district of Ilocos Sur are among the 1.6 million food heroes nationwide who will benefit from the P7.6 billion cash assistance sourced from the excess tariff collected from imported rice. The tariff is mandated by the Rice Tariffication Law which seeks to improve productivity of rice farmers and provide consumers access to affordable and high-quality rice.
