Secretary’s Visit to the Stables and Greens Project in San Benito, Lipa City (Feb. 11, 2021)

The “Stables and Greens: Agri-Livestock Integrated Support to Covid-19-Prone Areas” project beneficiaries in San Benito, Lipa City showcase their community garden and share their plans for sustainability to the Department of Agriculture (DA) team led by Secretary William Dar.

The collaborative project of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI)-International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ITCPH), East-West Seed Company, and the Lipa City local government unit (LGU) benefits 156 families who are also members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

In support of the DA’s “Plant, Plant, Plant” Program, the project aims to mitigate the effects of the pandemic by promoting agri-livestock household production for consumption and the use of various technologies for meat, egg, and vegetable production.

Secretary Dar was joined by Assistant Secretary for Operations Arnel De Mesa, Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications Noel Reyes, Regional Director Vilma Dimaculangan, Dr. Ruth Miclat-Sonaco of ICTPH, East-West Seed Public Affairs Lead Mary Ann Sayoc, Lipa City Mayor Eric Africa, and San Benito Chairperson Quintin Piol. This event aims to apprise the Bidders on the Standard Bidding Procedures of the Department of Agriculture - Office of the Secretary and the introduction of Green Procurement conditions in the procurement of Lease of Venue, Catering of Food Provision and I.T. Equipment.
