The Prado Siongco Rice and Corn Farmers Association in Lubao, Pampanga showcased the benefits of the solar-powered fertigation system (SPFS) project funded by the Department of Agriculture (DA).

According to them, the SPFS project is such a big help to them especially now that there is an increase in the prices of fuel.

The farmers expressed their gratitude to the DA officials led by Agriculture Secretary William Dar, Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications Noel Reyes, and Regional Director Crispulo Bautista during their site visit on March 21, 2022.

The P1.093 million-worth project has a service area of eight hectares covering the association’s rice, corn, and vegetable farms.

Secretary Dar congratulated the farmers for embracing modern production technologies and practicing farm diversification, which will help improve their income. He also asked them to continue their trust and support in the national government that is doing its best amid the global economic challenges affecting the agriculture sector.
