
Farmers of high-value crops in five barangays of General Santos City will benefit from the farm-to-market road (FMR) projects turned over by Agriculture Secretary William Dar on November 17, 2021.
The San Jose FMR, Barangay Upper Labay FMR, Purok 7 to Purok 20 Barangay Mabuhay FMR, Purok 3 Barangay Katangawan FMR, and Purok 9 Barangay Tinagacan FMR were turned over to the barangay officials and farmer-beneficiaries during the event.
With a total amount of P44 million and length of three kilometers, the FMR projects were funded through the Department of Agriculture (DA) Farm-to-Market Road Development Program (FMRDP). The ceremonial turn-over and unveiling of the FMR project in San Jose, General Santos City was led by Secretary Dar along with DA Assistant Secretary for Operations Arnel De Mesa, Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications Noel Reyes, and Regional Director Dennis Arpia.
