Ubi Festival and Distribution of Farm Machineries and Agri Projects in Bohol

The Department of Agriculture (DA) turned over P380 million worth of agriculture and fishery programs and projects to the province of Bohol during the 20th Ubi Festival on January 28, 2020 in Tagbilaran, Bohol.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar led the awarding of P60 million worth of various agri-machineries, inputs and projects, under the Special Area for Agriculture Development (SAAD) program; and P106 million composed of inbred seeds distribution (P16M), agri machineries for 100 farmers (P80M), and training and extensions (P10M) under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF).

The Landbank of the Philippines turned over P11.75 million for the Expanded Survival and Recovery Assistance for the rice farmers (SURE-AID) program, benefitting 750 rice farmers tilling one hectare and below.

For the fisheries sector, the regional office of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Research (BFAR) committed P40 million for various projects.
