To provide support and add value to agricultural produce, Agriculture Secretary William Dar committed P10-million in credit to the Cassava Growers and Processors Association (CAGAPA) of Aseniero, Dapitan City, during his visit on February 26, 2021.

The fund, which will be applied as financial assistance under the Agri-Negosyo Loan Program (ANYO) of the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC), will be used for the mechanization of the processing of cassava, known as one of the major market-driven commodity.

“Mechanization must be the way forward to be competitive for the world market, and so I urge you to transform this facility into a modern processing center,” Sec. Dar said.

In his message, the agri chief congratulated the members of CAGAPA for not only focusing on the production of cassava, but more importantly to adding value to the root crop.

Tutulong po ang DA para mas lalo pa ninyong mapaunlad ang inyong kabuhayan,” he stressed further encouraging the leaders and professional managers of the association to continue to help famers, and develop the industry. (Photo by Gian Carlo Luague, DA-AFID)
