Agriculture Secretary William Dar reminded the management of the National Fisheries Development Center (NFDC) to level up applied research activities and magnify fish improvement actions in the aquaculture and mariculture sectors during his visit at the center on Feb. 3, 2022.

“Sustain your excellence and your relevance to the industry. Sayang yung ginagawa ninyong maganda kung hindi natin nakikita ang impact. There must always be outputs, outcomes, and impact. Commercialize and level-up in a big way. Economies of scale must always be there,” he said.

The agri chief also instructed NFDC to work with the Aquaculture Department (AQD) of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center in Tigbauan, Iloilo on various innovations that are workable and may be adapted in their conditions.
