ROME, Italy (October 17, 2025)—The Philippines reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable agrifood development at the 2025 Hand-in-Hand Investment Forum, held during the World Food Forum (WFF) at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Headquarters in Rome, Italy.

Marking its second consecutive year of participation, the country presented the vibrant potential of an investment portfolio focused on innovation, food security, and climate resilience on 14 October 2025.

In Rome, the Philippine delegation also held bilateral meetings with the FAO Director General Qu Dongyu, investors and development partners to foster collaboration in agribusiness, climate-smart technology, and value chain innovation during the UN FAO World Food Forum week. The Philippines emphasized shared regional and global goals in food security and agricultural modernization.

The Philippines also participated in the “From Seeds to Foods” global exhibition on October 10-14, 2025 at the Parco di Porta Capena in Rome, showcasing tropical agrifood products such as mango goods, coconut items, and seaweed-based snacks as symbols of agrifood innovation. These products will continue to be showcased at the Philippine Embassy in Rome to further raise awareness and potentially create demand for these innovative food products.

The Philippines is one of the 34 founding member nations of FAO in 1945 and an FAO office in the Philippines was established in 1978. ### (Photos by DA-IAD)
