MIADP Environmental and Social Safeguard (ESS)

Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF)

The Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) of the Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (MIADP) complies with the guidelines of the Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) of the World Bank (WB). The framework ensures that a system is established within MIADP to ensure compliance with World Bank Environmental and Social Standards. The said document discusses the processes, procedures and other requirements to manage MIADP’s Environmental and Social risks and impacts.

The main objective of the ESMF is to provide guidance to the MIADP, specifically to the people, and the environment, to assess and manage the environmental and social impact of project activities, particularly in the implementation of agricultural infrastructure and business development facilities. Following a systematic hierarchy, the ESMF creates a detailed and focused reduction assessment and planning, which must be strictly followed during project implementation and operation. The framework was created in order to provide guidelines for the completion of relevant information and the integration of environmental protection and social development measures for their inclusion in the preparation of subproject proposals, the approval of final subprojects and their locations, as well as the preparation of detailed planning.
