No to illegal fishing

Author: DA-AFID | 4 January 2017

Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol vows to strengthen the fishing industry in the province of Quezon, which has posted a significant decline in fish production for the past four years. A four million-kilo reduction in fish products delivered to the Dalahican Fish Port, was observed by authorities from the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority caused by various factors including illegal fishing activities such as cyanide and dynamite fishing. As such, Piñol declared an all-out war against illegal fishers during his first Biyaheng Bukid for the year on January 4, 2017.
