ABOUT

The principal function of the Office of the Agriculture Attaché (OAA) in Rome is multilateral policy work, representing and advocating Philippine agricultural and fisheries interests in Rome-based UN agencies, particularly the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and as needed, with other agriculture-related organizations i.e. the World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development. The function also entails, among others, alliance work with member nations, the civil society, the private sector, and other relevant stakeholders to foster goodwill and promote the Philippines’ food and agricultural interests for national and global food security.

Other functions of the office include:

• Liaising with institutions in the mobilization of technical assistance and projects of interest to the Philippine agricultural and fisheries sectors.
• Promotion of agricultural cooperation, trade and investments for the Philippines with Italy.
