Agriculture Secretary Manny F. Piñol inspects sample products of a bamboo processing plant situated in Maasin, Iloilo after his meeting with the irrigators’ associations of the Philippines on August 30, 2017. The processing facility supplies bamboo sticks for big fast food chains such as “Mang Inasal” not just in the province of Iloilo but even in Metro Manila. During Piñol’s recent visit to the province, he announced that the Department will be launching a new credit facility scheme that will allow farmers to improve their productivity using seeds and fertilizers of their own choosing.
