The Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) launched the 2023 National Fibercrops Summit on November 13, at the Department of Agriculture Central Office in Quezon City.
The program, themed HIBLA BIDA aims to recognize fibercrops, such as baca, cotton, piña, salago, and silk, which play an important role in the Philippine economy despite being non-food crops.
The kick-off was led by Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr., Assistant Secretary and PhilFIDA OIC-Executive Director Atty. Genevieve Velicaria-Guevarra, and Senator Robinhood Padilla. ### (Photos by Alan Jay Jacalan and Van Joseph Manzo)
