Department of Agriculture (DA) Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban met with Korean Agency of Education, Promotion, and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (EPIS) Senior Manager Lee Jae-eun to discuss the smart greenhouse project updates on September 8, 2023.

Manager Lee and the EPIS independent monitoring team including Dr. Park Sauk-hee, Dr. Bae Do-chan, and Dr. Kim Tae-Hoon reported the project accomplishments after visiting the smart greenhouse sites at the DA-Regional Field Offices (RFOs) in Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao.

Based on the final monitoring of project performance and development of sustainability plan, the EPIS team told Undersecretary Panganiban and DA-Field Operations Service (FOS) Director U-Nichols Manalo that the project is successful and almost perfect.

The DA officials thanked the South Korean government and expressed support for more collaborative projects between the two countries. Funded through the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA), the official development assistance (ODA) project established 11 smart greenhouses in Bukidnon and 10 smart greenhouses in Ilolio to promote innovative technologies for improved yield and quality of high-value crops.
